Definition: Databases hold data (digital data) ; those data represent facts - the content in a form processable by computers. Those content facts have meaning to an agent, but to understand that meaning an agent need to understand the concepts that are used.
Examples:

Doesn't database denote that the data are held in a structured framework that allows access to individual data items through some standard query protocol. Submitted 14 April 2016

The data item makes an assertion, other criteria come into play to determine which assertions are facts, and false assertions can and certainly do occur in databases... Submitted 14 April 2016
