Definition: Data continuously acquired by the data acquisition system from all channels at a high rate of speed. Every fast data file is associated with a slow data file. Sometimes the data acquisition software is started and stopped several times during an experiment such that multiple slow files are consecutively related. The slow data and fast data files include configuration information about the data acquisition system, including sensor names, calibrations, units, etc.
