Definition: A time span extending from a seasonal minimum of glacier mass to a seasonal maximum. The accumulation season is the same as the winter season on most glaciers, which are of winter-accumulation type. Special cases include glaciers of summer-accumulation type and year-round ablation type, and glaciers that have more than one accumulation season during the year.  IHPGlacierMassBalance
