Definition: A multi-layered structure found in polar regions and consisting of single snow-grain layers cemented by thin (0.1 mm) films of regelation ice. The regelation ice films form on the surface following the kinetic heating of saltating drift snow under constantly strong katabatic wind flow.  IACSSnow
